About Us
We believe in trying to help all aspects of our community become more dementia friendly. This does not just mean businesses and service providers but social groups and community organisations can make a big difference too. This way those living with dementia can continue to carry on the activities they have always done, stay part of their communities for as long as possible. Everything we do is in partnership and informed by people living with dementia, and their carers.
Our Dementia Friendly Community group is comprised of local businesses, organisations and charities and comprises of a mixture of volunteers and representatives from Haywards Heath Town Council, Mid Sussex District Council, St Richard’s Church, The Orchards Shopping Centre and local NHS & social housing connections to name a few. In January 2019 the alliance was recognised as a 'Dementia Friendly Community'.
Our Aims & Objectives
We believe that dementia friendly communities can work and make a big difference as long as people with dementia and their carers are involved and there are many ways in which they can be involved.
Our specific objectives for 2020 in support of our aims include the following:
We look forward to continuing our work in Haywards Heath, supporting people living with dementia and those caring for them.
